Frontline Call for Backup

Warriors Live When Shame Dies

Frontline Call For Backup is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope for those working on the frontline who are struggling with Occupational Stress Injuries.

We know that sometimes helpers need help, too.

FC4B exists to inform, inspire, and invest directly into treatment and recovery of frontline workers and first responders.

Our belief is that Warriors live when shame dies.

Stigma is still a huge barrier and often prevents individuals from reaching out for the help they desperately need and deserve.

We are dedicated to normalizing the conversation around mental health in frontline professions and using the knowledge and resources we have found helpful along our own healing journeys to better support our brothers and sisters.

It Started with a Story…

Taylor Thompson didn’t set out to start a not for profit organization. She just wanted to tell her story in hopes that it would allow one person to feel less alone.

There was a time that she was so unwell that she believed in her head and in her heart that her loved ones would be better off without her here.

Throughout her recovery she was sick and tired of seeing suicide after suicide in the headlines and sitting helpless on the sidelines.

She knew that she had a big voice and that if she could just find the courage to share her story that it might help just one person, save one life.

Writing her story was painful.

Reading it over and over out loud made it feel less personal.

She learned she was more than that story she wrote.

She learned that she was more than the things she had been through.

She found power in her voice and set out to be the change.

I see your pain. I know your worth. One day you will look back at all of this as a very tiny part of your confident, capable and free self. Don’t give up now. Your story isn’t over.
